Is this normal police procedure ..... ?

my home, along with two other homes, were all raided at the same time by the police / narcotics / swat. its some what of a long story, so i wont go into detail. but during the raid computers, electronic devices, financial papers, ect were confined and put into evidence. because drugs were not found in my home, i called the head of narcotics and asked about getting my stuff back. he said he would do the paper work to get this done and get back to me. about a week later he called and said i could have my stuff back. i figured i would have to go down to the police department and pick up my stuff from evidence, but he said he would have it dropped off at my house. that night two detectives (men) came and brought my stuff back. i thought this was odd, but was just happy to get it back. is this normally what they do?
